My Astronaut

Jack came home from school the other day so excited. He had talked about space and walking on the moon in class then they all made space suits. Here's my little astronaut. He had a lot of fun riding in his homemade spaceship. It turns out the moon really is made of cheese.
While I'm on the subject of Jack I have to write about his struggle to be good. He has a behavior chart at school that's a 1-5 scale. 1 gets him sent to the principal and 5 is good. We've taken to averaging out Jack's scores because on average he gets 1-2 very low scores in a week and then he'll get a score like 7 which means he did above and beyond good behavior. The other day he came home with a 0. That's right, off the charts naughty. Every morning Dave and I send him to school with a "Get a 5 today" and everyday he says, "I'll try" in a very non-committal way. He doesn't want to make promises he can't keep. Some days he comes home and says "guess what mom I got a 5 today" and other days he says, "I got a 2 today. I tried but I just couldn't be good." Sometimes being a little boy is so tough. Your the best for trying Jack. We love you!!!

Sunday Afternoon

Jackson doesn't stay dressed for long after church

Sundays can be pretty crazy sometimes but every once in awhile I see what they can and should be like. This last Sunday was one of those days. We made it to church on time and the kids were so well behaved during sacrament. Then the kids came home and quietly sat down and enjoyed each others company. Savannah and Jordan played a game together that Grandma Bodily had brought them and Ren, Emma and Jackson sat down to look at pictures to put in Emma's scrapbook. They all stayed quiet and I even had a chance to take a nap. The perfect Sunday!

Rainforest Cafe

We went to Phoenix over the weekend and had a blast! The girls were having fun with their cousins so Dave and I took the boys to the Rainforest Cafe. It was so much fun. The restaurant looks like a rainforest with tropical fish all around, stars on the ceiling, jungle noises and an occassional thunderstorm. It was perfect for crazy boys because no one could hear or see them climbing the walls and they were entertained the whole time. We didn't get the volcano desert though so we'll have to go back again.

Ren, Savannah and Jordan couldn't get enough of this exhibit

Jordan is such a cutie! The shark and ray look cute enough to touch

Phoenix Zoo

This is the whole gang. Dave's sister Cherylen and her family joined us at the Zoo for some cousin fun. . . .they're all related to the monkeys!

These kids went "ape" over the monkeys on the monkey trail. (I am so clever)

I took the pink shirt idea from Debbie's mom. You couldn't miss me.
