The Nutcracker

We had a girls night and went to see The Nutcracker. I was surprised to see how beautiful the costumes and backdrops were. Pretty good for little Sierra Vista. The ballet was very good as well. I was surprised how many older men they found to wear tights and dance around.
Here was the main line-up: Lorri, Avery, Emma, Madison, Lexi, and Alish.

Katie and Savannah decided they were old enough to sit by themselves.
It was a fun night and the girls all seemed to enjoy the ballet. I just love my girls and the times like these we get to spend together.

Tooth Fairy

The Tooth Fairy has been a frequent visitor at our house because of the plethora of lost teeth. Jackson lost his first two teeth in the same night a few weeks ago. I've just been a little slow to blog the occasion.

Jordan has lost 4 teeth including this one that needed a little persuading. It wasn't wanting to come out and Jordan needed a little extra money for Christmas shopping so he let Dad pull it. Tooth Fairies around here pay a GOLD dollar per tooth. Of our 5 children, Jordan is the only one that would ever have sat still for this.

Friends

Don't you just love good friends. I was chatting with my friend Heather tonight and she just made me smile. She is clear across the country yet she is dealing with the same daily trials I am. We can talk like we've never been apart and make each other smile and laugh at ourselves and our petty worries. This is a favorite picture of mine. It's not a very flattering one for me and my slouch but it was the happiest reunion with Heather. We hadn't seen each other in about 8 years and we both had families now but getting together was like going back in time. We stayed at her mom's house and had a sleep over in her old room. My dad even drove me there. A friend that has known you that long and still likes you is the best thing in the world.

Dave's "8 things" list

Hol tagged me to make a list, so here goes......

8 FAVORITE TV SHOWS I LOVE TO WATCH - The Office, Life, 30 Rock, Heroes, Lost, Myth Busters, Deadliest Catch....and of course...Star Trek (the original series.)

8 FAVORITE RESTAURANTS - The Fish Hopper (Cannery Row), Rodizio Grill (Trolley Square), Cafe Roka (Old Bisbee), Marrakesh (Washington DC), El Guero Canelo (Tucson), Any cafe in the Latin Quarter (Paris), Tajine (Moroccan restaurant in the Old Souq, Doha, Qatar), Aqui Es Con Flavio (Puerto Penasco, Mexico)

8 THINGS THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY - Took the midgets to the bus, went to the range, saw Twilight with Hol and her friends (successfully infiltrated my first "girls night out"), read a book, went to the office in Tucson, bought snacks to smuggle into the movie, downloaded music from itunes, laughed at facebook postings (cringed at a horrible photo of me posted by my bro-in-law).

8 THINGS I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO - Thanksgiving with family, Turkey Bowl football, hot tubbing, putting up Christmas lights, Christmas, watching Christmas movies, finishing the back yard (a ten-year project), two week Christmas break from work.

8 THINGS ON MY WISH LIST - Going on a cruise with Hol, taking Hol to Europe, scuba diving with Hol, Ruth and Lance, taking Hol and the kids on another ski trip to Utah, escaping for a long weekend to a Monterey B&B with Hol, get my pilot's license, learn to kiteboard, win the lotto to pay for my wish list.

8 PEOPLE I AM TAGGING - I have no idea...the first 8 people to comment on my post (assuming 8 people take the time to READ my post!)
